Kamio (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Kamio mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.

- Content you create or share within the app
Child character data (“Hero profile”)
To generate personalized stories, you (the parent or guardian) provide the following data about a child character:
- Character name and age
- Character gender and physical appearance (e.g., hair color, eye color)
- Child’s interests, likes, and concerns
- Story theme, setting, and preferences
This data is entered exclusively by the parent or guardian and is used solely for story generation.
Automatically collected information
- Device information (model, operating system, unique identifiers)
- Usage data (features used, time spent, interactions)
- Log data (IP address, access times, crash reports)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app
- Generate personalized stories, audio narration, and illustrations using AI services
- Create and manage your account
- Send you technical notices and support messages
- Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
4. Third-Party AI Services and Data Sharing
To generate story content, we share the child character data listed in Section 2 with the following third-party AI service providers:

How we collect and send this data
When you tap the story generation button, the app sends the hero profile data you entered to our backend server, which forwards the relevant portions to the AI providers listed above via their APIs.
User consent
Before the first story generation, the app displays a consent dialog that clearly identifies the data being shared, the recipients, and asks for your explicit permission. Story generation does not proceed without this consent.
Data protection guarantees
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) to all providers.
- Data is used exclusively for a one-time generation of the requested content (text, audio, images).
- Your data is not used to train any third-party AI models. We use API configurations with zero data retention (ZDR) where available.
- Each third-party provider is contractually required to provide the same or equal level of data protection as described in this policy.
- No personal data is sold, rented, or shared for advertising purposes.
5. Other Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the AI providers listed above, we may share information with:
- Cloud infrastructure providers (hosting, database, authentication)
- Payment processors (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) for subscription management
- Communication services (push notifications)
- Law enforcement when required by law
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Generated stories are stored in your account until you delete them or your account.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption in transit and at rest.

9. Children’s Privacy
Kamio is designed for parents and legal guardians to create stories for their children. We do not collect personal information directly from children. All child character data is entered and managed by the parent or guardian. By creating a hero profile, you, as the parent or guardian, consent to the processing of this data for story generation as described in Section 4.
You may review, edit, or delete any child character data at any time within the app. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data directly from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
